Kenya is set to boost its exports to China following the signing of a new bilateral trade framework between the two countries.
The agreement grants Kenyan goods, including agricultural produce and raw minerals, duty-free access to China’s vast consumer market of more than 1.4 billion people.
Kenya’s Deputy President, Kithure Kindiki, says the deal is expected to open up new opportunities for local producers and strengthen trade ties between the two nations.
Officials say the move could significantly increase Kenya’s export earnings while supporting economic growth and job creation, particularly in the agriculture and mining sectors.
