Police in Kenya are investigating the disappearance of former Foreign Affairs Minister Raphael Tuju, amid concerns he may have been abducted.
According to his family, Tuju and his driver went missing on Saturday evening while travelling to a scheduled radio interview.
Authorities say his vehicle was later found abandoned with its hazard lights on along a road in Karen, an affluent suburb of Nairobi. Police added that attempts to reach him have been unsuccessful, as his phone is switched off.
Tuju, who has held several senior government positions, including serving as foreign minister, has recently been involved in a protracted legal dispute over the auction and takeover of his properties in Nairobi linked to an unsettled bank loan.
Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to establish the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
