The Madlanga Commission in South Africa (SA) has heard that judicial vetting in Kenya had a positive effect on the integrity of the country’s judiciary.

Senior Financial Sector Specialist at the World Bank, Laura Pop says Kenya embarked on a judicial vetting process after the 2007/2008 post-election violence and the adoption of the 2010 Constitution.

She says the 2011 vetting process evaluated judges and magistrates on their integrity, financial conduct, professionalism and suitability to continue serving in office.
