The Lesotho Highlands Water Project is marking 40 years as a major cross-border water infrastructure.
The long-standing Lesotho Highlands Water Project is a partnership between Lesotho and South Africa (SA), transferring water from the Senqu-Orange River basin in Lesotho’s mountains to SA’s Vaal River system, while enabling Lesotho to generate clean hydroelectric power.
The Lesotho Highlands Development Authority is hosting a three-day stakeholders conference.
This year’s water conference is under the theme “Reflection, Accountability and Shared Understanding”.
