The Kingdom of Lesotho’s nurses and midwifery organisation joined the world in commemorating International Nurses Day in Maseru this week.
The theme was: “Our nurses, Our future, An empowered nurse saves lives”.
This year’s commemoration puts the spotlight on the remarkable legacy of individuals who contributed immensely into positively shaping the industry better.
The nursing fraternity in Lesotho is said to be the bedrock of the health system, with almost 90% of nursing and midwifery forming a chunk of the health sector.
The 2026 commemoration is dedicated to honouring those who left an indelible ink to the health fraternity.
The nurse’s day is commemorated with spiritual encouragements, motivational speeches and poems.
