Young people in Lesotho have marked International Youth Day with a call to turn to agriculture as a pathway to jobs and economic opportunity.
Agriculture Minister and guest speaker Selibe Mochoboroane is urging young people to see farming as more than just a livelihood but a viable business and a weapon against unemployment.
Commemorating the International Youth Day, the guest speaker Mochoborane says he has come to woe (woo) young people to consider joining the agriculture sector as a viable alternative to creating businesses that will curb unemployment.
Meanwhile Mochoboroane says they are on full alerts to assist farmers in distress due to heavy snowfall.
But insists more effort should be placed on early warning systems for better preparedness.
