In athletics, Lesotho’s Neheng Khatala is shaping up as one of Africa’s leading ultra-distance runners ahead of this weekend’s Two Oceans Marathon in Cape Town, South Africa.
Khatala returns to the race in strong form after finishing third last year and has since boosted her credentials with an impressive win over defending champion Gerda Steyn.
With a winner’s prize of about $23 000 at stake, competition is expected to be fierce as elite runners line up for one of Africa’s most prestigious road races.
