Liberian government is co-ordinating the extraction of 263 of its citizens from South Africa

The Liberian government is co-ordinating the extraction of 263 of its citizens from South Africa (SA) following waves of xenophobic violence that have prompted several African nations to offer voluntary repatriation.

The evacuation process will prioritise 23 individuals who require immediate, emergency removal due to escalating local tensions and ultimatums explicitly targeting foreign nationals.

The Liberia Refugee Repatriation and Resettlement Commission is currently validating citizenship claims, issuing emergency travel documentation, and preparing reintegration packages for the returning citizens.
