Libyan side Al-Ahli Tripoli have signalled their determination to challenge for the TotalEnergies Confederation of African Football (CAF) Confederation Cup by embarking on an ambitious recruitment drive ahead of their continental campaign.
Coached by experienced Egyptian manager Hossam El Badry, the Tripoli club have reinforced virtually every area of their squad with signings from across Africa and Europe as they target a maiden continental trophy.
Among the marquee additions are former Pyramids FC forward Fiston Mayele and South African striker Fagrie Lakay, joining an already established core. Al-Ahli Tripoli’s aggressive transfer strategy follows a period of domestic dominance, having secured the Libyan Premier League title two seasons ago before lifting the Libyan Cup last term.
