Malawi’s Ministry of Health has defended its plans to send 500 nurses to go work in Israel.
The Ministry says this is a move to curb unemployment of health care professionals in the country.
The move has been opposed by some quarters in the community saying it will leave the country with insufficient health workers.
The Ministry of Health in Malawi says it will soon start with the process of sending qualified nurses to go and work in Israel.
They say the nurses who will be recruited to Israel are those who are currently unemployed.
The government defended the criticism that Malawi already has a shortage of healthcare professionals including nurses.
They say they will benefit the country including the nurses.
