The Malawi Prison Service says it plans to begin visiting primary schools, secondary schools and colleges across Malawi to educate students about restorative justice, reconciliation between offenders and victims, and peacebuilding.
The programme aims to raise awareness among young people about conflict resolution, accountability and the importance of social harmony within communities.
Officials say the initiative is also intended to encourage dialogue on rehabilitation and the role correctional services can play in rebuilding relationships between offenders and society.
