The Malawi government says it will conclude its government-backed programme to repatriate citizens who have chosen to leave South Africa (SA).
The operation was introduced in June, to help Malawians who wanted to return home following anti-immigrant protests in SA.
It is reported that over 56 000 Malawi citizens were assisted with transport and essentials through the voluntary repatriation.
The exercise was led by Malawi’s Department of Disaster Management Affairs.
