Boxing icon Floyd Mayweather is facing a $1.375 million lawsuit from an upscale Miami jeweller, adding to a growing list of legal claims against the undefeated former champion.

Court papers filed in Miami-Dade County allege that Mayweather bought 27 watches and 15 chains worth $1.6 million from AJ’s Jewelry during two visits in August last year. The lawsuit claims he paid only $300 000 upfront, while five cheques issued for the remaining balance later bounced.

The case follows a separate New York lawsuit alleging the retired boxer owes $330 000 in unpaid rent and damages on a $24 million leased Manhattan penthouse. It also comes after another Miami jeweller filed a federal lawsuit in January, claiming Mayweather breached a 2024 settlement agreement involving $4 million worth of watches and jewellery.
