Measles is making a major comeback in the United States (US), more than a quarter-century after the highly contagious disease was declared eliminated in the country.
Nearly four thousand cases have now been confirmed nationwide this year, with Pennsylvania emerging as the epicentre, recording more than one thousand infections and five deaths.
Neighbouring New York State has declared a disaster emergency as cases rise there, while health officials warn that falling vaccination rates are leaving some communities increasingly vulnerable.
