Mercedes-Benz South Africa (SA) has announced that its Chief Executive Officer (CEO)-designate, Abey Kgotle, has resigned for personal reasons, less than a month before he was due to assume the role.
Kgotle, who joined the company in 2017, was appointed in June to succeed Andreas Brand as the Chief Executive of the German luxury carmaker’s South African operations.
He currently serves as the Executive Director for human resources and corporate affairs and will step down on November 30.
In its statement, the company said it respects Kgotle’s decision but did not provide further details regarding his personal reasons.
