MC Alger coach Rulani Mokwena has called on South Africans (SA) to back Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos and respect his decisions regarding squad selections.
During a Q&A session with the SA Football Journalists’ Association, Mokwena was asked about Broos’ choice to leave attacker Thembinkosi Lorch out of recent national team squads.
Mokwena stressed that Broos has earned the authority to make such calls, pointing to his leadership in guiding SA to both Africa Cup of Nations qualification and a spot in next year’s FIFA World Cup.
“I think Broos has done exceptionally well for the country,” Mokwena said. “Given the success he’s achieved, he deserves our support, and the players do too. He certainly deserves a fair share of the credit.”
