Morocco produced the biggest win in FIFA U-17 World Cup history on Sunday, thrashing New Caledonia 16-0 to obliterate the previous record margin of 13-0 set by Spain against New Zealand.
Senegal also secured first place in their group after a 5-0 victory over the United Arab Emirates, highlighted by Bakary Sonko’s superb hat-trick.
South Africa (SA) progressed to the knockout rounds despite a 3-1 defeat to Italy in Group A, while Tunisia fell short, losing 2-0 to Belgium in Group D. Morocco and Senegal will wait to see if Tunisia and other third-placed teams also qualify, with Egypt already securing a spot in the last 32.
