Authorities in Mozambique have arrested several senior officials accused of stealing money from the pension branch of the country’s National Social Security Institute.
The arrests form part of ongoing efforts by the Mozambican government to crack down on corruption and misuse of public funds.
Investigators allege that large sums of money meant for pension services were unlawfully diverted by officials linked to the institution.
