Mozambique government collected $2.9 million in revenue during the first half of 2026, accounting for 45% of the target outlined in its Economic and Social Plan.

Speaking after a Cabinet meeting, Government Spokesperson and Minister of State Administration Inocêncio Impissa confirmed that public expenditure reached $286 million over the same period, representing 36.2% of the projected budget.

He also reported that annual inflation settled at 4.5%, while total exports reached approximately $30 million for the six-month period.

In addition to reviewing fiscal performance, the Council of Ministers approved a decree establishing the Southern Integrated Development Agency, a new body designed to drive multi-sector initiatives and promote balanced socio-economic growth across Mozambique’s southern region.
