Mozambique has marked its 51st anniversary of independence, celebrating more than five decades of freedom since gaining liberation from Portugal on June 25, 1975.
The national milestone commemorates the country’s transition to self-governance under the leadership of its revolutionary founding President, the late Samora Machel.
Citizens across the nation used the anniversary to reflect on the country’s liberation history, structural achievements, and its ongoing socio-economic development goals.
