Mozambique’s Renamo President Ossufo Momade has called for greater responsibility in digital communication, warning against the growing risks of online disinformation and content manipulation driven by artificial intelligence (AI).
Opening the Mozambican opposition party’s third National Council, Momade urged members to champion truth, maintain respect in political debate, and protect internal unity. He cautioned that the spread of fake news and digital distortion threatens to erode public trust in political institutions and weaken democratic processes across Mozambique.
The appeal comes at a delicate time for Mozambique’s main opposition movement, as Momade faces mounting internal pushback and contestation regarding his leadership of the party.
