A joint assessment mission at the Cuchamano-Nyamapanda border post between Mozambique and Zimbabwe has highlighted key progress in streamlining transit procedures and boosting regional commerce.
The strategic crossing point currently clears around 80 cargo trucks daily, serving as a critical trade conduit connecting Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and broader Southern African markets.
Following findings from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) delegation, regional officials are focusing on strengthening co-ordinated border management, speeding up information exchange between customs agencies, and optimising current infrastructure.
Key recommendations from the assessment will be submitted to regional policy organs to support the transition toward seamless cross-border logistics and lower transit delays.
