Namibian President Dr Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has departed Windhoek for Lusaka, Zambia, to attend the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect Hakainde Hichilema at the National Heroes Stadium this Tuesday.
Nandi-Ndaitwah will join fellow Southern African Development Community (SADC) Heads of State and Government, alongside regional officials and international dignitaries, for the inauguration in the Zambian capital.
In an official dispatch, the Namibian Presidency highlighted that Nandi-Ndaitwah’s attendance underscores the historical bonds of friendship and longstanding bilateral relations between Windhoek and Lusaka, as well as both nations’ shared commitment to regional stability and economic integration within SADC.
The Namibian delegation’s arrival in Lusaka comes as Hichilema prepares to officially launch his second five-year term amidst high security and growing public anticipation over his incoming executive cabinet.
