A new digital tool developed by South African (SA) researchers could change how adolescent mental health is assessed across the African continent.
The AfriCAT project is being led by Dr Bianca Moffett from the SA Medical Research Council and Wits-Agincourt Unit.
She uses adaptive testing technology to identify depression and anxiety among young people more accurately and efficiently.
The assessment can take ten minutes, significantly reducing the time for diagnosing mental illness.
