Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has pledged to bring to justice in Jos

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has pledged to bring to justice those responsible for the killing of 30 people in the central Nigerian city of Jos last Sunday.

Speaking during a meeting with relatives of the victims, Tinubu assured families that his government would do everything possible to prevent a recurrence of such violence.

He has since directed the country’s security chiefs to track down those behind the attack. Following his visit, authorities announced plans to deploy more than 5 000 AI-enabled cameras to support law enforcement efforts in the state.

He has also approved the recruitment of 1 000 forest guards to strengthen local security, while the military says additional troops will be deployed to protect residents and restore order.

Plateau State has a long history of violence, often linked to ethnic and religious tensions, as well as disputes between farmers and herders.
