The Nigerian High Commission (NHC ), says it’s concerned over the continuing reports of mass abductions in Niger State, where families and communities have expressed anguish over the prolonged captivity of their loved ones.
The Commission on Thursday released its September report where it says it recorded over 3 38 000 human rights violations across its offices nationwide.
The NHC has further called on relevant security agencies to testify efforts towards securing affected communities, rescuing adopted persons and ensuring that perpetrators of these crimes are brought to justice.
Executive Secretary at NHC, Tony Ojukwu says it should be noted that behind every complaint is a person, a family or a community whose rights may have been violate
Ojukwu pointed out that it’s their responsibility as the Commission to ensure that the information they collect translates into meaningful action, effective remedies and stronger protection for all Nigerians.
Ojukwu says they have recorded 40 000 more cases.
