Nigeria has climbed to 24th place in the latest International Boxing Association world rankings

Nigeria has climbed to 24th place in the latest International Boxing Association world rankings, which feature 153 countries across the globe.

 

The ranking system rewards performance in major competitions such as the Olympic Games, World Championships, continental championships and World Boxing Tour events over a two-year rolling period.

 

Nigeria accumulated 12 150 points, putting it ahead of traditional boxing powers France and United States (US), both tied in 25th place with 11 500 points.

 

At the top of the standings, Uzbekistan leads with 48 700 points, followed by Russia and Kazakhstan in second and third place respectively. The Democratic Republic of Congo is ranked fourth, while Australia completes the top five.

 

Other notable positions include Morocco in sixth place and China in ninth, reflecting a highly competitive global boxing landscape.
