Members of the United Kingdom (UK) activist group Palestine Action remain on hunger strike, with four individuals fasting for about 60 days.

Around 60 members of the group were arrested after protesting against an Israeli arms company operating in the UK, which authorities have labelled a terrorist organisation.

The group carried out acts of civil disobedience, including entering arms manufacturing sites linked to the supply of drones to Israel and intelligence support provided by the British Royal Air Force. Activists say their actions are intended to highlight the UK’s role in enabling the conflict in Israel.

In response, South African (SA) organisations, including Healthcare Workers 4 Palestine, will hold nationwide protests on Tuesday in solidarity. Dr Feroza Amin said demonstrators are calling for accountability in arms supply chains and greater support for Palestinian rights.
