Pope Leo is heading to Angola as part of his 11-day visit to four African countries

Head of the Catholic Church Pope Leo is heading to Angola as part of his 11-day visit to four African countries, where he is focusing on peace, migration and the environment.

His trip began in Algeria before moving to Cameroon, where more than 120 000 people gathered for an open-air Mass in Douala.

While in Cameroon, the Pope visited the troubled Anglophone region and again called for peace after years of conflict. He also spoke about the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence, warning that it could deepen divisions and fuel fear if not handled responsibly.

In Angola, his visit will include stops in Luanda and Saurimo, along with a public rosary at the Our Lady of Muxima Shrine.

He is expected to wrap up his African tour with a three-day visit to Equatorial Guinea starting on Tuesday.
