South Africa’s (SA) Minister of Electricity, Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, says steady progress is being made in reforming the country’s electricity sector.
He made the remarks outside the Cape Town City Hall, Western Cape Province, hours before President Cyril Ramaphosa is scheduled to deliver the State of the Nation Address.
He says the transformation process is gaining momentum, citing improvements in grid access and ongoing structural reforms within the industry.
Ramokgopa adds that businesses have been invited to actively contribute ideas and proposals to help shape electricity frameworks.
The engagement forms part of broader efforts to strengthen collaboration between government and the private sector in reshaping SA’s energy landscape.
