Pyramids claim historic CAF Super Cup victory over RS Berkane

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Pyramids FC made history on Saturday night, clinching their first-ever TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup title with a 1-0 win over Morocco’s RS Berkane at Cairo’s June 30 Stadium.

Head coach Krunoslav Jurčić described the triumph as a moment of pride for the entire club, praising his players and backroom staff for their collective effort. “This success is not about one person, it belongs to everyone at the club. It’s the result of years of hard work and belief,” said the Croatian manager.

Berkane’s coach, Moïn Chaâbani, pointed to injuries and missing players as key factors in what was a closely contested final. Despite dominating stretches of the game, the Moroccan side could not find the breakthrough they needed.

The result adds another major honour to Pyramids’ growing list of achievements and reinforces their rise among Africa’s top football clubs. For Berkane, last season’s TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup champions, the narrow defeat was disappointing but offered hope as they prepare for a busy domestic and continental campaign.
