Carlos Queiroz steps down as Ghana coach following World Cuplast-32 exit

Carlos Queiroz has stepped down as the head coach of the Ghana national football team after just three months in charge, following the Black Stars’ elimination from the World Cup in the round of 32.

Queiroz took over the reins in April, guiding Ghana to a third-place finish in Group L before suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Colombia in the first round of the knockout stages. The former Manchester United assistant manager was appearing at his fifth consecutive World Cup tournament, having previously managed Iran, Portugal, and Egypt on the global stage.

Queiroz was one of two World Cup managers to vacate their positions on Sunday, as Jordan also parted ways with head coach Jamal Sellami following their fourth-place finish in Group J.
