Russia, Ukraine and the United States (US) are set to hold further talks in Geneva on Tuesday.
This latest round of trilateral peace negotiations comes after the first such meeting in Abu Dhabi earlier in February.
Moscow has changed its lead negotiator for this round of talks in Switzerland and Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the change in head of Russia’s delegation indicates Moscow’s intention to delay making an important decision.
Dasha Chernyshova has more from Moscow.
Moscow is sending an extended delegation to Geneva for a new round of talks on the Ukraine settlement.
Kremlin spokesman said Monday that the talks will deal with a broader range of issues related to the territories and other issues connected to Russia’s demands.
More high ranking officials will be negotiating on the Russian side, led by presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky who headed Moscow’s delegation for previous talks on Ukraine.
Also part of the talks, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, says the Kremlin was ready to discuss with the US and other countries the possibility of introducing temporary external management in Kiev.
Last week, Galuzin also said that Russia will be ready to support a one-day ceasefire to allow elections to be held in Ukraine.
