Kagame announces that his country will soon recognise some Tanzania

Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame, has announced that his country will soon recognise some Tanzania citizens whose actions during the time of the genocide against the Tutsi in 1994 in Rwanda, demonstrated exceptional heroism.

Kagame made these remarks at the State House in Dar es Salaam during his one-day state visit to Tanzania on Sunday.

Kagame concluded his one-day state visit to Tanzania on Sunday evening after holding several meetings with his counterpart, President Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania, during which a wide range of issues were discussed.

The meeting between the two Heads of State came at a time when the Great Lakes region has been grappling with conflicts, especially in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

Kagame and Samia held private talks which, according to a later statement to local and foreign press at the State House in Dar es Salaam, centered on economic, security, and diplomatic matters.
