Kigali, Rwanda, is set to make history as it hosts the first-ever World Cycling Championships on African soil from September 21 to 28.

The event will feature 13 races, including five elite world titles. For the first time, the women’s under-23 rainbow jersey will be awarded in a standalone race, separate from the women’s elite road race.

Star riders expected to compete include Tour de France champions Tadej Pogačar and Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, Olympic double gold medallist Remco Evenepoel, and Team USA standout Chloé Dygert.

The championships are anticipated to draw significant international attention and are seen as a milestone for cycling on the continent.
