South Africa (SA) will for the next five years embark on a major water research project.

This is through the newly launched National Water Resources Accounting System for SA 2026 project.

The project is a water resources assessment project intending to quantify how much water the country has.

The data captured will be used by Statistics SA to generate water statistics in the country.
