Operations at the Kopfontein Port of Entry, connecting South Africa (SA) and Botswana, have been temporarily suspended following an infrastructure-disrupting spillage, the Border Management Authority (BMA) confirmed.
The BMA stated that the temporary closure was enacted in consultation with Botswana authorities to safeguard both cross-border travellers and port officials while response teams address the affected operational area.
BMA Spokesperson Mmemme Mogotsi advised members of the public planning to travel between the two nations to reroute to alternative crossings, specifically the Skilpadshek and Ramatlabama ports of entry, until further notice.
