Reigning African Athletics Coach of the Year Thabo Matebedi says sprint star Clarence Munyai Leotlela has returned to South Africa (SA) and is already back in training following his recent competitive outings in China.
Matebedi told SABC Sport that he has held detailed discussions with the athlete regarding his recent track performances, and a technical plan has been put in place to address areas that need immediate improvement before his next major international assignment.
The coach noted that the camp has around four weeks to fine-tune Leotlela’s preparations, expressing absolute confidence that the identified technical weaknesses can be corrected before the prestigious Diamond League meeting in Eugene, United States.
