The South African Communist Party (SACP) has criticised plans by the ruling part, African National Congress (ANC) to force members who belong to both parties to choose between them ahead of upcoming local elections.
ANC says it will give those affected ten days to decide whether to campaign for the ANC or the SACP.
This following the SACP’s decision to contest elections independently for the first time.
But the SACP has rejected the move as divisive and accused the ANC of trying to intimidate its members.
