The Agriculture and Rural Development Department in South Africa (SA) has confirmed 15 new cases of foot-and-mouth disease in several Free State province, including Viljoenskroon, Parys, Deneysville and Sasolburg.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the province to 106.
The department says vaccinating infected farms remains its top priority as efforts intensify to contain the spread of the virus.
It has also imposed restrictions on the movement of animals on all farms within a 10 kilometre radius of the affected areas.
