The South African Council for Educators (SAGE) will host a two-day hybrid Teachers Practitioners Research Colloquium in KwaZulu-Natal province.
The Colloquium will begin this Thursday in Umhlanga, north of Durban, the gathering will bring together educators, policymakers and early childhood development practitioners.
About 200 delegates are expected to attend under the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation theme: “Valuing Teachers’ Voices: Towards a New Social Contract for Education.”
Organisers say the discussions will help inform evidence-based interventions aimed at strengthening teaching practice across the country.
SACE Spokesperson Risuna Nkuna explains, “The hybrid teachers practitioners-based research colloquium is about acknowledging and celebrating the wealth of knowledge, expertise and contributions that our teachers continue to make within schools and society.
We are also including student teachers and Early Childhood Development practitioners. Through evidence-based presentations, educators will share challenges and engage meaningfully on problem-solving mechanisms aimed at strengthening professional practice.”
