Following the recent gruesome discovery of the bodies of ten women in Ekurhuleni, South Africa’s (SA) Deputy Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Steve Letsike, has joined calls for men to take a stand against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF).
Letsike was speaking to Channel Africa at Church Square in Pretoria on Friday, where the civic movement Not In My Name International is mobilizing men from across society to sign a pledge against violence towards women and children, following the recent discovery of the bodies of ten women in Ekurhuleni.
Letsike says men must take responsibility and speak out against violence perpetrated by other men.
