SA has been elected to serve a two-year term on the African Union’s Peace and Security Council

South Africa (SA) has been elected to serve a two-year term on the African Union’s (AU) Peace and Security Council, beginning April 1.

 

The decision was made by Member States during the 38th Ordinary Session of the AU Executive Council in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

 

Minister of International Relations and Co-operation Ronald Lamola said the election reinforce SA’s commitment to promoting peace, stability and a more resilient African continent.
