South Africa’s (SA) Former Deputy Crime Intelligence Head Major-General Feroz Khan is expected to testify in camera this Tuesday as the Madlanga Commission continues hearing evidence.
Khan’s appearance before the Commission has been delayed following a shooting in which he was injured, days before his scheduled appearance in July.
He has been implicated in allegations involving an Information Technology Treasury contract kickback and the Aeroton drug bust which occured in the south of Johannesburg in 2021. He is also expected to face questions about his finances and property.
The Commission is an Inquiry into Criminality, Political Interference, and Corruption in the Criminal Justice System.
The Commission says Khan will be questioned about evidence that was read into the record in his absence on July 7 and 9 2026. Khan was absent at the time after being shot and hospitalised. The Commission also directed Khan to file his statement relating to that evidence by midday on October 3 2026.
The ruling by the Commission also prohibits those granted access from publishing or broadcasting any recordings of the in-camera proceedings. I am Sibahle Motha in Pretoria.
