Sale of documents at the South African Home Affairs

The sale of documents at the South African (SA) Home Affairs department is again on the spotlight.

Several foreign nationals, especially asylum seekers, have spoken out about officials who allegedly sell documents for various amounts.

This corroborates the interim findings of the Special Investigation Unit (SIU), which have exposed several officials for allegedly becoming wealthy by selling Home Affairs documents to desperate foreign nationals and deepening corruption in the Home Affairs department.

A damning testimony of just how easy it is to buy documents at Home Affairs.

This supports the SUI’s investigation, which exposed officials eroding the credibility and integrity of Home Affairs and jeopardising the country’s immigration systems.

Speaking outside of the Home Affairs offices in Pretoria, Gauteng Province, angry asylum seeker says they are being financially exploited by rogue agents who work outside of the Home Affairs offices. Her son was allegedly recently extorted.
