South Africa’s (SA) Judicial Commission of Inquiry in investigating allegations of criminality, political interference, and corruption within the criminal justice system Madlanga Commission has heard dramatic new testimony involving former head of the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC), Advocate Andrea Johnson.
A phone call recording allegedly capturing a conversation between Johnson and a former subordinate was played before the commission.
This was after IDAC prosecutor Drushantha Ramsamy testified that she recorded the call because she no longer trusted her former boss.
Johnson is expected to respond to the latest allegations.
