South Africa (SA) and Kenya are expected to reaffirm their ties this week as Kenyan President William Ruto visits SA for talks with President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The visit comes after Ruto’s absence from a recent G20 meeting in SA sparked speculation about relations between the two countries.

Questions were also raised when Ramaphosa did not attend the recent Africa-France Summit in Kenya.

Despite the speculation, both countries insist their longstanding diplomatic and economic partnership remains strong.
