Business leaders from South Africa (SA) and Kenya are calling for stronger trade and investment ties following recent efforts to boost economic cooperation between the two countries.
Trade remains heavily in SA’s favour, but Kenya’s growing economy, driven by agriculture, manufacturing and financial technology, is creating new opportunities for business and investment.
Last week SA President Cyril Ramaphosa briefed members of the media during Kenyan President William Ruto’s State visit at the Union Buildings in Pretoria, Gauteng Province.
Ruto’s three-day visit was his first since taking over as head of State of the East African economic powerhouse in September 2022.
SA and Kenya has 28 memorandums of agreement in various fields including agriculture, tourism, transport, trade, education, and defence.
