The initiative aims to bolster the country’s efforts towards the End TB Campaign, which seeks to test five million people for TB by 2035.
The TB dashboard offers an interactive overview of testing data, allowing users to filter information by province, district, age, and sex. Health Minister Dr. Aaron Motsoaledi described the platform as a crucial tool in the fight against TB.
“We have all agreed that in every forum I have attended on TB that unless we come up with a vaccine, we are going nowhere. At the current rate, it is calculated that the war against TB will only be won by 2080. That is why we are pursuing the development of a vaccine,” Motsoaledi explained.
The dashboard is expected to improve monitoring and planning by health authorities, enabling faster and more targeted responses to outbreaks while providing a transparent overview of the country’s progress in combating the disease.
