South Africa (SA) observes November as Children’s Month, placing the spotlight on the challenges facing children and the need to protect their safety and well-being.
The month was officially launched in Johannesburg, Gauteng Province by the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund, in partnership with the Department of Social Development.
This year’s theme, “Safe to Play, Free to Thrive,” highlights the importance of creating safe environments where children can live, learn and play without fear of harm.
It also calls for greater efforts to protect children’s rights and ensure their well-being.
